Bastille Day Street Fair Madison Avenue NYC. • New Yorkers take their photos in the 'Inside Out' photo truck and paste their self-portrait posters on Madison Avenue, participating in a city-block-long mural. • This Bastille Day, L’Alliance New York presents a reenactment of the 1967 performance Blank Placard Dance by French choreographer Anne Collod. Originally created by Anna Halprin in response to the Vietnam War and social unrest, this piece involves 30 amateur dancers carrying blank signs, accompanied by a marching band. The audience is invited to participate by proposing statements for the blank placards, exploring the role of performance in urban settings and demonstrating the enduring power of art across generations. • #BastilleDay2024 #NYC #
