Shortly after moving to the Chicagoland area as an immigrant from Venezuela, Lenin heard about the Care Center and began visiting to receive resources. He quickly realized many of the Care Center guests were also recent immigrants and refugees, and noticed the great need for Spanish-speaking volunteers in order to provide the most equitable and dignified guest experience possible. Even with his limited English, Lenin jumped in to help by translating for and welcoming first-time Spanish-speaking guests. He may have initially come to the Care Center to receive resources, but Lenin saw the beauty in being able to serve exactly where he was. This is the power of the mutual transformation that happens everyday at the Care Center. • Lenin's experience is just one of many inspiring stories of help and hope from the Care Center.
