In this video, I take you through the step-by-step process of restoring the windows in our abandoned 100-year-old house. With over 30 windows needing repairs, replacing them just wasn't an option. Instead, we decided to restore them to prevent water leaks and keep the heat in during the colder months. • 5 Phases of Restoration: • 1: Cleaning Removal of Rotten Wood – Carefully cleaning each window frame and removing the damaged wood. • 2: Replacing Rotten Wood – Replacing old, rotten sections to ensure a solid base. • 3: Filling with Poly Filler – Filling cracks and gaps to reinforce the frame and make it smooth. • 4: Applying Silicone – Sealing edges with silicone to keep water out and increase insulation. • 5: Painting – Adding a protective layer of paint to finish and preserve the windows. • This DIY approach not only saved us money but also allowed us to keep the historic charm of the house intact. If you're tackling a similar restoration project, or just curious to see how we brought these old windows back to life, watch the full video to see each phase in action! • #WindowRestoration #DIYHomeRepair #OldHouseRenovation #HomeImprovement #HistoricHouse #WindowRepair #BudgetRenovation • #HomeRestoration #AbandonedHouse #RenovationJourney #EnergyEfficient #Weatherproofing #DIYFix
