North out of the Crow's Nest valley and then west across Davis Creek over to Reno Creek. Red line with NW heading is a straight line from Crow's Nest to the southern bluff looking over the LBH River and as the crow flies is approx. 12 miles. Total distance for the route is approx. 16 miles. It actually took Custer all day long to about 3:00 PM to reach the bluffs overlooking the Little Bighorn and the village. By 5:00 his entire battalion command was completely destroyed.
