A French free-climber has completed his latest daredevil stunt by scaling one of Dubai’s tallest skyscrapers, the Emirates Cayan Tower, in the heart of the city-state’s luxurious marina district. • Alain Robert, 52, dubbed the real-life ‘Spiderman’, has made a career for himself setting astonishing world records. • Robert completed the 1,007-foot climb in just 70 minutes on Sunday, according to the Associated Press. • Monsieur Spiderman used no safety harness, just tape and chalk, and had little leg room as he made his way up the twisting structure. • Robert is no stranger to scaling tall buildings. Sunday’s ascent was his 85th building climb in just 14 years. • In 2011, he climbed the nearby Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, this time using a rope and harness in order to comply with requirements set out by an organizer.
