Located in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, the Delaware River Railroad offers train rides behind their beautiful 2-8-2 SY (ShangYou) Mikado steam engine, built in 1989 by the Tangshan Locomotive works in China for the Valley Railroad in Essex Connecticut as their #1647. The NYSW purchased one as well, Susquehanna #141. The ship carrying the 141 capsized in the bay on Bengal, the 141, and the rest of the ships contents now rest at the bottom of the sea. The NYSW purchased the 1647 from the Valley Railroad in 1991, and renumbered her to 142. • She operated mainline excursions on the NYSW until being placed in storage. She was pulled out of storage by the BVDR in 2004 for use on the Delaware River Railroad Excursions. To this day, the 142 is the regular motive power on the trips from May to October. • Don't forget to hit that subscribe button, comment, and rate this video, now, enjoy the sights and sounds of steam on the Bel-Del.
