Bodywork 101 EDP Coatings Should it be removed

Basically EDP is Electro Deposit Primer, a protective coating applied to steel replacement automotive panels. This primer protects during transport and storage and adds a layer of corrosion resistance after priming and painting.... Most of the Time we remove it to verify that no rust has got underneath the coating.. we have had many cases where Lacquer EDP has had this.
