Brian Heston is an award winning artist / photographer and author born in 1953 in Cleveland Ohio. He currently resides most of the year in Chicago wintering in Palm Springs CA. His photography evokes a painterly look connecting the viewer emotionally to the image. “Like a picture of music, it’s a feeling that I want to convey “ . • Heston enrolled in a liberal arts program at Goddard College in Vermont for a year (1971-72) and left school to travel to India and explore inner space. A pursuit he still enjoys and a major influence on his perspective. “It’s about seeing in the moment, seeing the beauty.” Heston has taken classes at The School of the Art Institute and DePaul University in Chicago but never felt a need to acquire credentials. He is largely self-taught but grateful for the many photographers, artists, designers, and art directors he has learned from along the way. • Brian always appreciated art, coming of age in the era of great picture magazines like Life and Look, which featured contributing photographers like Pete Turner, Art Kane, Irving Penn, and Richard Avedon. Heston’s work spans the film to digital revolution. He has published “Kodachrome to Pixellography” a 20 page softcover book of images he shot on film over the past 50 years and manipulated digitally. https://www.blurb.com/b/8804321-kodac... • In 2020 Heston began composing and producing music as The Chicaguys . I feel my purpose is to communicate that feeling through art, music and now directly through words though words and all media can can seem inadequate when talking about something beyond all words, and concepts. Words still convey the most meaning” • Brian’s creative expression includes authoring the book - FINDING YOUR PEACE: THE MAGIC OF LIVING HERE AND NOW. Five Decades Exploring Inner Space. An autobiographical work about his life’s journey, the triumphs and tragedies and how a perspective learned in 1972 made it all a magical ride. This book is more than a life story it is a journey into wisdom and enlightenment told through relatable stories that happen in life. Creatively it is the bridge to what I try to say with other media . • A LOCAL'S GUIDE TO CHICAGO is Brian's first book on another subject that's dear to his heart: his home city of Chicago. I love where I live and want everyone who visits the city to have the opportunity to see it as I do, particularly some of its hidden treasures that are easy to miss. • Link: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/... • Audible: https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/Finding-... • Google: https://g.co/kgs/TFVSaz2 • Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/Finding-Yo... • Finding Your Peace: https://www.amazon.com/FINDING-YOUR-P... • Websites: https://brianhestonauthor.com/
