The spirit of Godzilla must rest... or else! • ** Be sure to turn on CLOSED CAPTIONS for English subtitles ** • The direct sequel to 2002's Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla features the return of Kiryu (with some slight modifications to the design) and Godzilla, now with a recognizable scar on its chest from the last film's conclusion. Only this time both are joined by Mothra... but whose side is Mothra on? An urgent warning is delivered to humanity that it must return the bones of Godzilla (housed inside of Mechagodzilla) to the sea. If done so, Mothra will defend Japan against Godzilla in place of Kiryu. Meanwhile, Godzilla has recovered from a near-death encounter with Kiryu (Mechagodzilla) and is destined to return to Japan and finish the fight. Will the plea of the Shobijin be heard in time to save us all? Or will the combined forces of Mothra and the repaired and upgraded Kiryu be enough to get the job done? • This fast-paced follow-up has become one of the more popular films in the Millennium era, with many having said that Mothra has never looked better. With ties to both the original Godzilla and Mothra films, it delivers the excitement of those movies to the modern age.
