These are all of Belgium’s standard service rifles over the last century • Starting off with the Mauser M1889. This was a bolt action, took 5 rounds and fired 7.65x53 mauser. It saw Belgium through WW1 and was still used in the Second world war, although primarily through an updated variant, the 89/36. • These were upgraded 89s that were cut down with new parts such as the barrel, sights and bolt housing. • After the war Belgium started using the FN-49. This was a semi auto rifle that took 10 rounds and fired .30-06 Springfield. But Belgium did also purchase the AFN, a select fire automatic version. • However in 1956 Belgium Introduced the FN FAL. It typically took a 20 round mag, could fire full or semi auto and used 7.62x51 and is one of the most influential and produced rifles ever made with 7,000,000 built. This stayed in use for most of the Cold war only starting to be replaced from 1989 by the FNC. • This switched caliber to 5.56 NATO, could fire full auto, semi auto or a 3 round burst and took 30 round STANAG mags. • But from 2009 Belgium started using the FN SCAR-L. The L stands for Light as it uses 5.56 These are truly modern rifles, using a polymer lower and aluminum upper, features an uninterrupted to picatinny rail, tow removable side rails and a bottom rail that can accommodate a grenade launcher. • Music: ‘japanese jazzy lofi type beat‘ by ‘Kitsune’ • • (no copyright music) japanese jazzy l... • Listen everywhere: • https://lofihiphop.de/kitsune • For more Copyright Free Music visit: • https://youtube.tamamusic.com
