Squamous papilloma is an exophytic overgrowth and projection of the soft tissue associated with human papillomavirus (HPV), with the function of the surrounding structures spared. It is usually benign and asymptomatic, appears as pedunculated, sessile or verrucous, and usually depends on its location. • • Keratoacanthoma is a skin lesion that erupts in sun-damaged skin, rather like a little volcano. It grows for a few months; then it may shrink and resolve by itself. Keratoacanthoma is considered to be a variant of the keratinocyte or non-melanoma skin cancer, squamous cell carcinoma • Verruca vulgaris are common warts, which are caused by infection with human papillomavirus. Such warts can develop anywhere on the skin and frequently appear on the cuticle (the skin at the base of the nail) and sometimes the area beneath the nail. Nail biting (onychophagia) can spread this infection. • Oral melanocytic nevi are benign proliferations of nevus cells in the epithelial layer, the submucosal layer, or both. As such, they are classified as junctional, intramucosal, and compound nevi. Nevi may also be classified as congenital or acquired.
