Such substances are Acids. • E.g. such as lemon juice, orange juice, vinegar, curd, amla etc. • The substances which taste bitter. Such substances are Bases. • E.g. baking soda, bitter gourd, cucumber, green vegetables etc. • There are certain substances which on mixing with other substance causes change in their color. These are called Indicators. These indicators are used to identify whether the substance is an acid or a base. • Some of the naturally occurring indicators are Turmeric, litmus, petals of china rose which is also called Hibiscus etc. We also have some synthesized indicators such as phenolphthalein, Methyl orange, Bromothymol Blue.
