QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 Ship Tour in Dubai

The Queen Elizabeth 2 ship tour is something that shouldn't be missed if you are in Dubai. Peter, the tour guide, makes the boat come to life with his wonderful stories and descriptions. He previously cruised and worked on the QE2, so he is the perfect person for the tours. Our tour started off at the QE2 exibition in the main terminal. Here we learned about the history of the QE2. The QE2 was a cruise ship, a transatlantic ocean liner, and even carried troops during the Falkland Islands War. • She was in service from 1969-2008. In 2008, the Queen Elizabeth 2 made her way to Dubai where she was converted into a floating hotel and museum. After a quick history lesson, it was time to board the ship through the Midship's Lobby. The Lobby was covered wall to wall with original paintings depicting the Queen Elizabeth 2's history and the history of the Cunard Line. The first place we explored on the ship was the casino. It consisted mostly of slot machines. Then we stepped out onto the deck of the boat to make our way to the Bridge. From the deck, we could see the skyline of Dubai. When we entered the Bridge, it was as though we had stepped back in time. The Bridge is the captian's command area. It was filled with old maritime equipment. We also explored some offices near the Bridge, and we even saw the original calendar from the ship's last voyage in 2008. Our tour also included viewing a cabin as well as the car lift. After finishing the tour, we went to the back of the boat to the Pavillion Restaurant. The views of the Dubai skyline at night were really beautiful. The food at the restaurant was also really good. I had the fish and chips and Ali had a burger.
