Looking for things to do in Airlie Beach? Why not check out the best views in Airlie! It's one of the best hikes in Whitsundays Australia. • WHERE: • Honeyeater is a 8.2km return track. You can easily walk from downtown Airlie Beach as the shortest route is 700m to the trailhead. Once you leave the main town area it's mostly an uphill walk. If driving, you can park on the road near the trailhead. • HOW: • The track starts at the top of Kara Crescent in the Airlie Beach suburbs. Turn left from the top of Kara Cres to the Conway Circuit sign and staircase. Once on the trail, follow the Conway circuit for 2.3 km to the Honeyeater lookout turn-off. Follow the trail to the Honeyeater Lookout with views over Cannonvale and the Whitsunday Islands. Return via the same route. • TIPS AND OTHER DETAILS: • Keep your eyes peeled for Australian Lace Monitors (goannas). They are super common on the trail. We’ve hiked to Honeyeater Lookout a dozen times and have seen at least one on every hike. • Honeyeater Lookout is part of the 27 km Conway Circuit in Conway National Park. The recommended time to complete the entire Conway Circuit is 3 days/2 nights hiking or 4 hours for fit and experienced mountain bikers.
