B.I.R.I. BELLOSO 1983 - REPORTAJE - PRESS NEWS • The Belloso Battalion was founded December 31, 1981 and was one five Immediate Reaction Infantry Battalions of the Salvadoran Army. It was named after General Ramon Belloso, hero in the Central American campaign against William Walker and the Filibusters who invaded and had claimed himself president of Nicaragua. • The BIRI Belloso received training at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina and would participate in 107 operations during the armed conflict. • El Batallón Belloso fue fundado el 31 de diciembre de 1981 y fue uno de los cinco Batallones de Infantería de Reacción Inmediata del Ejército de El Salvador. Llevaba el nombre del general Ramón Belloso, héroe de la campaña centroamericana contra William Walker y los filibusteros que habían invadido Nicaragua. • El BIRI Belloso recibió entrenamiento en Ft.
