These terms are Proximal Distal. • ✅ Proximal Distal • Proximal and distal are used when describing terms of the appendicular body. This is the limbs such as your arms and hands or legs and feet - essentially the appendages added to the axial body. The axial body refers to your core... the head, neck, and trunk of your body. • When we say proximal it means closer to the axial body OR you can say ‘going towards the trunk'. • When we say distal it means further from the axial body OR you can say ‘going further from the trunk’. • Ex. We can say the thigh is proximal to the foot (because the thigh is closer to the trunk of the body, right?)
