Every guitar has a story, and many that are considered beyond saving still hold incredible potential. Through careful assessment, skilled repair, and thoughtful restoration, these instruments can be given a second life. This project is part of my ongoing mission to transform neglected or damaged guitars into playable, cherished instruments, combining passion for craftsmanship with a commitment to sustainability. • This custom guitar started as a standard black, 2-humbucker offset Flying V. • Modifications include: • Stripped body to wood and filled neck pickup route with a wood block using hide glue. • Applied white primer, Polar White base coat, and clear lacquer, with headstock painted to match. • Custom single-ply white scratchplate designed and made by myself and partner. • Replaced control panel, truss rod cover, and nut with white single-ply versions. • Clear volume and tone knobs, and a chrome toggle switch to complement the overall look. • The electronics feature a hybrid Warman's G-Rail bridge pickup with a versatile 4-wire design, allowing selection of single coil, hotrail, or both in parallel. A DPDT push/push switch on the volume pot enables full series power for high output, easily driving an amp. • Setup includes standard maintenance: polished frets, cleaned/oiled fretboard, intonation adjusted at the 12th and 5th frets, and new regular strings. • 00:00 Start • 00:20 Strip down • 01:25 Down to Wood • 02:13 Paint • 02:53 Finished
