Between glue, tape, heat and everything else it can be messy and inconsistent but the Cricut Foil Transfer Tool eliminates most of that and streamlines the whole foiling process. Admittedly, it can sometimes have inconsistent results but for me, it is easier than most other foiling processes. So, you can use the Cricut Foil Transfer Tool with the Maker and Explore machines but can you use it with the Cricut Joy? Yes, there is now a way! Etsy vendor, TheLongJourney, has created an adapter that allows you to use the fine and medium foiling tips from the Cricut Foil Transfer Tool kit with the Joy. There are a few limitations but overall, this adds a new, fun use to my Cricut Joy. Here are the steps to create a foiled design with the Cricut Joy: • 1. Purchase the adapter from TheLongJourney • 2. Select a design that can be CUT with the Cricut Joy (Draw won't work) • 3. Use the standard card mat in Cricut Design Space and move the design to the center of the mat • 4. Load the mat with card stock (if making a card) and adhere the foil as flat as possible on top of it - don't get the foil on the sticky part of the mat. • 5. Load the mat into the Cricut Joy and select Go in Design Space • 6. When the Joy finishes cutting the design, unload the mat, remove the foil and tape to reveal the new foiled design • 7. If desired, color in the foiled design if desired • 8. Assemble the card with coordinating cardstock and dies • 9.
