Its head received 4 valves per cylinder and as a result, the maximum power increased by a whole 18 hp, it was now 136 hp. Already a year later came the new changes, and with, among other things, a new bonnet, grille, lights and minor changes in the interior also came to a new name. The letter E in the name no longer signified injection but belonged to the appropriate class. Thus was born the first E-Class, the favorite car of the German middle class.
