Hey music lovers this is ClevverMusic, welcome back. The web is buzzing after Marshall Mathers dropped new track Rap God October 14th online, and it lives up to its hype. The song hears a fresh pulsing beat as Eminem takes a cue from Drake with some brag rapping, as he explains why he is the greatest rapper alive. The lengthy 6 minute track starts with Slick Rick's famous line from 1980 rap track The Show , Look, I was gonna go easy on you and not to hurt your feelings... As Eminem preps for his opener which sets the tone for the song, rapping, I'm beginning to feel like a rap god/ All my people from the front to the back nod . Rap God is proving much different than other new tracks Berzerk and Survival . This track sees Em acknowledge his presence in the hip hop world and as the song lyrics say, rap immoratality like I have . The song goes on to hear explosive rap verses from Eminem with dozens of pop culture references such as Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton, Ray J and Marvel Comics and Thor. Em also shouts out all the rap greats he looks up to, I'm a product of Rakim, Lakim, Shabazz, Tupac N/ W.A., Cube, hey Doc, Ren, Yella, Eazy, thank you. Nice that he pays a little respect to the greats. Rap God is Em's third track off forthcoming Marshall Mathers LP 2 set to drop November 5th.
