Patellofemoral joint is articulation between posterior surface of patella with the femoral condyles. Patella is a flat bone which is embedded in the quadriceps muscle tendon and act as a anatomical pulley that enhances the MOMENT ARM OF QUADRICEPS muscle as well as help to reduce friction between femoral condyles and quadriceps tendon. The video discuss about the anatomy of patella as well as its role and function, with emphasis on its posterior surface which contains Medial, Lateral Odd facets of patella. • Further discussion proceeds to the articular surface peculiarities of patellofemoral joint, Conditions such as PATELLA ALTA PATELLA BAJA. Later the relative change in position of patella with respect to femoral flexion extension and INSALL -SALVATI RATIO etc. are discussed. • • TIME CODES: • • PATELLA ANATOMY: 1:30 • • FACETS OF PATELLA: 7:15 • • PATELLOFEMORAL JOINT : 9:40 • • INSALL SALVATI RATIO: 21:05 • • PATELLA ALTA: 18:30 • • PATELLA BAJA: 19:23 • • PATELLAR CONTACT AREAS IN KNEE ROM : 23:15 • Watch lecture for more details... • For more doubts and notes............. • • Follow my official Facebook page: / tonystutorial • • • or my Instagram profile: / tonystutorial • • TONY JOSEPH • ASSISTANT PROFESSOR • KANNUR MEDICAL COLLEGE
