IDNYC began five years ago for all people who live in New York City. IDNYC is a card for all New Yorkers, regardless of their immigration status. • • It is a card that sends a simple message: this city belongs to all of us. We belong here. Our languages belong here. We all have a right to access important city services. These services include going to libraries, picking up our children from school, and getting affordable health care. Today IDNYC is the largest municipal identification program in the world. The program is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. With IDNYC, you can add an emergency contact, gender marker and language of your choice. Now, many New York City residents can renew their cards online. I encourage you to sign up for an IDNYC today. If you already have a card, check the expiration date. You may be ready to renew your card online or in-person at an enrollment center. You can renew your IDNYC up to 60 days before it expires.
