Ultimately I'm not sure how successful of an endeavor this was. (The corollary being that you never know if you don't try.) • Video quality leaves a lot to be desired. The image sensor seems very noisy and there are definitely some transport issues. I'd guess that the recording head may be dirtier than I expect or starting to wear out. It's not a good idea to get too rambunctious when doing a manual head cleaning, and so I didn't. • Quicktime had a hard time with this file, whose size ballooned up like crazy. This was probably a result of all the video noise fooling the compressor into thinking it was fine detail that needed to be saved. • My test of the Sony CCD-TR91, a much older machine: • Sony CCD-TR91 Video8 Handycam Direct... .
