Hortus Botanicus Leiden is home to one of the largest Wollemi pines in Europe. The Wollemi Pine, Wollemia nobilis, is a fascinating tree. It was thought to be extinct for 60 million years until it was rediscovered in 1994 in the Blue Mountains in Australia. Nowadays you can see the Wollemi pine in many botanic gardens around the world.
