Clean, filter and fry it. • Keep the stove in sim flame and keep frying it. • When the thinai turns to light color and when it gives sound while frying you can remove from the pan. Grind in mixie and filter the powder, • Pottu kadalai or Roasted Gram (Badam, Cashews also we can use) - 1 cup. Fry the roasted gram too and then grind in mixie. • Add both powder items on a plate and mix. • In a vessel take little ghee and heat it up. I have taken 4 tsp ghee though it is only optional. • Add cashew nuts. • Add little coconut. • Add little cardamom. • When this is hot mix it with the powder we made. • After adding the hot ghee, cashews paste then take nattu sakkarai (palm sugar) and mix with it. Nattu sakkarai I have taken 1 cup. • We can also add little honey if needed some more sweet. • Halwa • Thinai maavu (Foxtail millet flour) - 1 cup • Karuppati (Palm Jaggery) - 2 cups. Add about 1 1/2 glasses of water and keep the karuppati on the stove to allow it to melt. • Simultaneously on another pan add ghee and cashew nuts and once the ghee melts and cashew turns brown add the thinai maavu. Stir it well. • For the Halwa the flour needs to be in nice form. • Once the karuppati is melted pour it in the maavu paste pan by filtering there itself as shown in the video. • Keep stirring it without leaving by keeping the stove in sim. • #diwali #sweet #vegetarian #tamilfoodshare • Facebook, Instagram, Helo - @ayyangarkitchen
