Finallity • Written and Produced by: Charles Friley • This was my final project for my English class and my music production class. That's why I called it Finallity. • Had fun making this... its also my first song that I completely produced myself. (thanks to my boy Josh for pushing me to use my beat) • • Verse one is about Jane from the Yellow Wallpaper • Verse two is about Boo Radly from To Kill A Mockingbird • (I forgot to put that in the video) • Quotes • The Yellow Wallpaper Quotes • I get unreasonably angry with John sometimes. I'm sure I never used to be so sensitive. I think it is due to this nervous condition. (Yellow Wallpaper 2) (0:35) • So I take phosphates or phosphites – whichever it is, and tonics, and journeys, and air, and exercise, and am absolutely forbidden to work until I am well again. (Yellow Wallpaper 2) (0:41) • One of those sprawling flamboyant patterns committing every artistic sin. (Yellow Wallpaper 2) (0:51) • Personally, I disagree with their ideas. Personally, I believe that congenial work, with excitement and change, would do me good. (Yellow Wallpaper 2) (1:05) (4:44) • The front pattern does move – and no wonder! The woman behind shakes it! Sometimes I think there are a great many women behind, and sometime only one, and she crawls around fast, and her crawling shakes it all over. (Yellow Wallpaper 7) (1:17) • Then I peeled off all the paper I could reach standing on the floor. It sticks horribly and the pattern just enjoys it! (Yellow Wallpaper 8) (1:47) • 'I've got out at last,' said I, 'in spite of you and Jane? And I've pulled off most • of the paper, so you can't put me back!' (Yellow Wallpaper 9) (2:05) • To Kill A Mockingbird Quotes • Atticus, when they finally saw him, why he hadn’t done any of those things... Atticus, he was real nice... • Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them. (TKAMB 285) • The sheriff hadn’t the heart to put him in jail alongside Negroes, so Boo was locked in the courthouse basement. Boo’s transition from the basement to back home was nebulous in Jem’s memory. (TKAMB 11) (2:32) • According to Miss Stephanie, Boo was sitting in the livingroom cutting some items from The Maycomb Tribune to paste in his scrapbook. His father entered the room. As Mr. Radley passed by, Boo drove the scissors into his parent’s leg, pulled them out, wiped them on his pants, and resumed his activities. (TKAMB 11) (2:27) • I think I’m beginning to understand why Boo Radley’s stayed shut up in the house all this time... it’s because he wants to stay inside.” (TKAMB 231 2:39) • Atticus was right. One time he said you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them. Just standing on the Radley porch was enough. (TKAMB 283) (3:01) • 'No, child,' she said, 'that is a sad house. I remember Arthur Radley when he • was a boy. He always spoke nicely to me, no matter what folks said he did. Spoke • as nicely as he knew how.' (TKAMB 46) (3:16) • 'You reckon he’s crazy?' Miss Maudie shook her head. 'If he’s not he should be by now. The things that happen to people we never really know. What happens in houses behind closed • doors, what secrets-' (TKAMB 46) (3:16) • Boo doesn’t mean anybody any harm... (TKAMB 258) (3:16) • He was carrying Jem. Jem’s arm was dangling crazily in front of him. (TKAMB 267) (3:31) (4:54) • Bob Ewell’s lyin‘ on the ground under that tree down yonder with a kitchen knife stuck up under his ribs. He’s dead... (TKAMB 270) (3:32) (4:53) • Links to PDF versions of both stories • Yellow Wallpaper • https://www.nlm.nih.gov/exhibition/th... • To Kill A Mockingbird • https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v pi... • • • • • • • Charles Friley Rap Song English Project Final Music Production Finnality American Literature Lit
