Bauer LS5G Carbon Skate Blade Review. I have used these blades/runners for over 12 games now and I just love them. Huge upgrade from the LS 1G blades that came with my Bauer skates. • This review is specific to goalie skates but if I was a player I would also be all over these blades. Key highlights: durability, retention of edges, cost (very reasonably priced), and savings for having to do less skate sharpening. Most importantly these blades offer exceptional performance for T-pushes, C-cuts, Butterfly pushes etc. If you are a goalie who does not like to have skates with strong edges then stick with your standard stainless steel blades/runners. • I can’t compare these to the Step Steel blades or Massive Steel blades but Step Blades are a little more expensive and higher profile. Massive Blade is in the same price range.
