We're getting closer to our ESP-NOW range test. This video gets one of the components in place - the GPS module. We'll be using that to track our position while we monitor ESP-NOW - but that's for a later video. In this video, we get the GPS up and running. • Thanks to PCBWay for sponsoring this video, PCBWay offer PCB Production, CNC and 3D Printing, PCB Assembly and much much more. You can find their details here: https://www.PCBWay.com/?from=atomic • Wiring up a GPS module to the ESP32 should be pretty straightforward. Almost all modules will use a straightforward UART connection, so we just need to connect power and the RX/TX lines. • I've scavenged my GPS module from the Tessel 2 project that I backed on Kickstarter several years ago. It's a nice module but it boots up in SiRF protocol and you need to send it a special command to switch it to the nice NMEA mode with its ASCII output. • I've put all the code up on GitHub here: https://github.com/atomic14/esp32-gps • You can pick up a GPS module here: https://amzn.to/3z4Gyru • And the TTGO Display here: https://amzn.to/3g8H5A9 • Thanks for watching. • ---- • Patreon: / atomic14 • ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/atomic14
