► A race car’s wild flares, wings, and splitters are just as memorable as the sounds they make and how they drive. Our Golden Era Project needed to emulate those late-90s DTM cars as best as possible, and there was no better way to do that than with a period-correct widebody kit replicating the original championship-winning Mercedes 190E. However, a three-month-long ordeal bringing over the body kit from Europe has put the team on the back foot as they scramble to get the 190E 2.0-16 ready for Gridlife Circuit Legends. • While waiting for the EVO II body kit to arrive from Germany, the 190E has been down at JPC Fabrication getting its roll cage installed along with various other supports and braces fabbed up for final assembly. Once Nate arrives with the Evo 2 panels, there’s little time to trim, fit, and finish the bodywork before the looming Gridlife deadline.
