I’ve never covered this because I believe Ralph Stanley’s version is definitive. However, I was recently inspired by The Dark Pictures Anthology, a series of interactive horror games by @SupermassiveGamesOfficial – each entry contains two versions of O, Death , including a badass metal arrangement by @khemmis that serves as the series’ recurring title sequence. Hearing the song approached minimally, maximally, and everywhere in between with great success planted a seed for me to try it this way…
