Guide ropes are used to align boats over the lift before raising and are typically installed in two ways. Each side of the boat will have two guide ropes. The position of the roof posts and the boat's length and slip determine how guide ropes are installed. • If the guide ropes are tied to the center roof post, pull the boat into the slip, hook the loop at the end of the ropes to the rear cleats, center the bow, and push the boat back against the guide ropes. If the guide ropes are tied to the rear post, pull the boat in, hook the loop to the rear cleats, center the bow, and pull the boat forward. If the boat is installed as a back-in, the guide ropes will most likely be tied to the forward roof post. Back the boat into the slip, hook the loop to the forward cleats, center the rear, and push forward against the guide ropes. • For front mount style hoists, guide ropes are tied to the forward part of the hoist frame. Pull the boat over the hoist, hook the loop to the rear cleats, center the bow, and push the boat back against the guide ropes. Leave the guide ropes attached to any boat on the hoist, but it is crucial for front mount hoists. The guide ropes prevent the boat from drifting off the hoist when it is initially lowered as the stern lowers first. #BoatLift #BoatGuide • To learn more, visit us at https://www.boatlift.com/about-us/new... • Follow us on other social platforms: • Facebook: / hydrohoistboatlifts • Twitter: / hydrohoist • Instagram: / hydrohoistboatlifts
