Millefoglie goes by several other names such as Millefiore which means “a thousand layers” or its French counterpart Mille-feuille. It’s also known as Napoleon which is a Russian national dish to commemorate its victory over the French emperor in 1812. It’s a delicious and amazing custard cream in between 12 layers of puff pastry and is a perfect cake for any occasion such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or just a sweet dessert to be enjoyed at any time! Use any fresh berries and cherries to top it up. • Watch this step-by-step cake tutorial and don't forget to subscribe, if you haven't already. • Tag your creations #JannasCookingShow on Instagram and YouTube • Ingredients • Puff Pastry Dough: • 3 cups of pastry flour (adjust higher if required) • 400g of cold butter • 1 egg • 1 tablespoon of brandy or whiskey or vodka • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar (6% acid) • 200-230mL of very cold water • Custard Cream: • 1 liter of milk over pot to warm (not boil) • 8 egg yolks • 2/3 cup of granulated sugar • 1 tablespoon of vanilla • ½ cup of flour • ½ cup of corn starch • 1 can of condensed milk • Note: No butter in this recipe • Fruits for cake decoration: • Cherries • Berries • Blueberries • Small grapes or any other small preferred fruits
