HYBE continues to face a string of setbacks, and this latest incident is particularly unusual. A man who had unlawfully entered HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul, and remained there for three days has been apprehended by the police. According to the Yongsan Police Department, a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, was arrested on September 8th for trespassing on HYBE's premises. Mr. A allegedly entered the building through the basement on the afternoon of September 6th and stayed inside for three days and two nights. He was arrested after a HYBE employee noticed him wandering around the building and reported him to the police at around 6:30 PM on September 8th. It is reported that Mr. A had managed to find food and shelter in areas like the cafeteria, which is used by HYBE trainees and staff. A spokesperson for HYBE stated, “We immediately reported the unauthorized entry to the police upon confirmation and are fully cooperating with the investigation to ensure that strict legal action is taken.” Meanwhile, HYBE's stock price has plummeted once again. This drop comes in the wake of NewJeans exposing alleged wrongdoings within HYBE and publicly expressing support for Min Hee-jin, an inside director at ADOR (and former CEO). Amidst this turmoil, HYBE's newly appointed CEO, Jae-sang Lee, has commented on the controversy surrounding ADOR. At an emergency shareholder meeting, CEO Lee addressed NewJeans' recent live broadcast by stating, “We will respond calmly and according to principles.” This phrase, “respond calmly and according to principles,” is often used by Korean politicians and can carry various connotations. In this context, it clearly indicates that HYBE intends to take legal action if NewJeans engages in activities that breach their contract. Put simply, it could be seen as nothing short of a declaration of war against NewJeans and their fans.
