They have come out with all kinds of new products in different shapes and sizes than we are used to. The old 12 x 12, 18 x 18, 6 x 6 square tile is still around, but the rectangular and unusual sizes are making a huge splash in the home fashions industry. This master bathroom has basically one pattern tile as our fill tile. On the floor we have that in white. This is from Dow and it is called Fabric. It has kind of a linen look to it. There is a slight stria to the tile that gives it a textural look. Then we took the same tile in a different color around the tub and in the shower. You can notice that we took the tile all the way almost to the ceiling, rather than just a small amount back here which kind of makes it feel a little more elegant. Then we accented it! On the floor, we took the tile that is on the walls, in a 2 x 2, and accented it in the grout joints going this way and you can see the tile is 12 x 24 so it's of rectangular size. On the tub, this is our wall tile, and this is our floor tile on the tub deck. We accented it with this terrific, tiny, little stone and metal accent. It comes on mesh and it's white, tan, black, and silver. We have just run two simple lines through the shower and we've used it as a six-inch band on our backsplash. We have the Silestone countertop in here which is very pretty with grays, blacks, and whites. This is called Blanco River and it is white with a little gray fossil like look to it. It is very pretty! We have black cabinets and really dark taupe walls. The bathroom is a great place where you can do dark walls because you have so many reflective surfaces and so many white surfaces. You have your tub and your sinks, and dark walls contrast really well with that. I think it makes for a very glamorous master bath. • To learn about Mary DeWalt, visit http://www.marydewaltdesigngroup.com/. • For more home design secrets from Mary DeWalt, check out these videos next: • Design Your Kitchen Option #1 with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Kitchen Option #1 with Ma... • Design Your Kitchen Option #2 with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Kitchen Option #2 with Ma... • Design Your Dining Room with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Dining Room with Mary DeW... • Design Your Kid's Room with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Kids Room with Mary DeWal... • Design Your Great Room with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Great Room with Mary DeWa... • Design Your Stairs with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Stairway with Mary DeWalt... • Design Your Living Room with Mary DeWalt: • • Design Your Living Room with Mary DeW... • Mary shares design secrets for two model homes from Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes in Caballo Ranch -- a new home community in Cedar Park, Texas, near Austin. • Mary DeWalt Design Group and Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes are winners of the 2012 Silver National Award from The National Sales Marketing Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
