Mugu Rara Lake to Upper Dolpo Trek Trekking in Nepal

Mugu (Rara Lake) to Upper Dolpo trek or Mugu Dolpo Trek is one of the most enthralling adventure trekking in Nepal.The trek begins with a scenic flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha airport then trek 2.30 hour to Rara Lake. Then along the Gamgadi (headquarter of Mugu District) we descend down to Mugu Karnali river and trek along the bank of Mugu Karnali we camp at Lumsa or Chhaila. After Lumsa or Chhaila we continue along Dungedhara and to Pulu. Further following the Mugu Karnali all the way Tiyar, Ladheghat and to Shiranchur. • After Shiranchaur we rolling in the wilderness for 5-6 days. Our next camp is Thajuchaur 4050m a beautiful camping site. Treading ahead and encountering first pass Chyargo La pass 5150m we descend down to a river confluence forest camp Takla Khola 3785m. There after ascending up to Jack Pass 4450m we continue to Chyandi Khola 4830m. Along the Chyandi Khola and lap in the Chyandi Lek we continue climbing up to Yala Pass 5414m. The stunning and breathtaking views of Chyandi Khola valley and Swaska Khola valley are rewarding stuffs of this trek. After Yala Pass the trail descend down to Pung Kharka 4650m ( a wonderful beautiful valley of Upper Dolpo). From Pung Kharka we follow the Swaska Khola for 2 hours and again we ascend to Nimagyalzen La pass 5563m. The panoramic views of Tibetan plateau, Palchung Hamga himal range and Kanjiruwa massif from Nimagyalzen La are a life time experience of this trek. After two hours treading along high valley of Nimagyalzen La we descend down to Phot village (back to civilization) after 6 days wilderness trek. Then from Phot village we continue to Bhijer.
