Subhash Chandra Bose (1897–1945) was a prominent Indian freedom fighter and nationalist leader who played a crucial role in India's struggle for independence from British rule. He was born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack, Odisha, to Janakinath Bose, a renowned lawyer, and Prabhavati Devi, a devout woman. After completing his early education in Cuttack, Bose graduated from the University of Calcutta and later went to England for higher studies, where he passed the Indian Civil Service (ICS) examination. However, in 1921, he resigned from the ICS, as he refused to serve under British rule. • Early Political Life: • Bose was deeply influenced by the ideas of Swami Vivekananda and soon became involved in the Indian freedom movement. He joined the Indian National Congress (INC) and worked closely with leaders like Chittaranjan Das and Mahatma Gandhi. Although he respected Gandhi, he disagreed with his philosophy of non-violence, advocating for a more aggressive approach to achieve freedom. • Rise in Politics: • In the 1930s, Subhash Chandra Bose emerged as a prominent leader in the INC. He was elected as the President of the Congress in 1938 and again in 1939. However, his radical ideas led to conflicts with other leaders, especially Gandhi. Following his resignation from the Congress presidency, Bose founded the Forward Bloc, a faction within the Congress aimed at uniting leftist forces. • Role in World War II: • During World War II, Bose sought to use the global conflict as an opportunity to liberate India. He traveled to Germany and sought assistance from Adolf Hitler for India's freedom. Later, he moved to Southeast Asia, where he reorganized the Indian National Army (INA) with the help of Japan. Bose inspired thousands of Indian soldiers and civilians with the slogan Jai Hind and led the INA in military campaigns against the British, particularly in the battles of Imphal and Kohima. • Death and Legacy: • Bose's death remains a mystery. It is widely believed that he died in a plane crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945, but some theories suggest that he survived and lived in hiding. Despite the controversy surrounding his methods, Bose is remembered as a fierce patriot who dedicated his life to India's freedom. • His legacy continues to inspire generations, and many institutions, places, and landmarks are named in his honor, such as the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport and the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology. • #subhashchandrabose #netaji #bhagatsingh #india #jaihind #indian #netajisubhaschandrabose #netajisubhashchandrabose #indianarmy #bose #chandrashekharazad #bharatmatakijai #inquilabzindabad #freedom #subhaschandrabose #lovers #azadhindfauj #vandemataram #indianindependence #bhagat #subhash #sukhdev #realhero #rajguru #indiannavy #singh #indianairforce #chandra #shifuji #bhfyp #india #inspirationalvideo #subhashchandrabose #history
