Monitor Lizards are native to Africa, Asia and Oceania. They have long necks, well-developed limbs, a powerful tail and strong claws. While most monitor lizards are almost entirely carnivorous, they can also scavenge and aid in biomass decomposition and recycling. They are generally shy animals and will not attack unless provoked.
