You can also discover if grant writing is right for you 👉 https://www.learngrantwriting.org/bec... • 1️⃣ Find a real project! • It can feel overwhelming to approach a non-profit when you don't feel like you know what you are doing, but it is a great way to get real-world experience and jump into grant writing. • In our main grant writing course, we have options for students to use a sample project or help another student on their project so that you can apply the concepts of grant writing to a real-world project. • 2️⃣ Commit to excellence in project management • I want you to start thinking of yourself as a project manager. Grant writing has so many moving pieces that it's critical to manage the project effectively. • 3️⃣ Fake it 'till you make it! • Grant writing seems to always offer new terrain - even if you are an experienced grant writer! Have the confidence to know that everything is figure-out-able and you got this! • 4️⃣ Have a process mindset • Create a folder structure that works for you organizationally. Figure out which grants are the best grants for your organization to pursue. It's like baking a cake, if you can do it once, you can do it again! • 5️⃣ Don't be stubborn! • I was really stubborn about learning grant writing and I wasted time and money applying for grants without knowing what to do!
