The District Attorney of Los Angeles County is essentially a governing body of one. The D.A. does not take orders from the Governor, Attorney General, Mayor, Police Chief, Board of Supervisors, City Council or Sheriff. Our D.A. oversees 180,000 criminal cases and a budget of $460 million annually, with an office of 2100 employees and 750-1000 prosecutors. • Our current D.A. George Gascon, has never personally prosecuted or defended a single criminal case in his entire life. His failed social experiment policies caused enormous harm to L.A. County. Our businesses are closing and residents are fleeing, while shoplifting, property damage, gang violence and all crimes skyrocket. Yet Gascon continues to gaslight the public with misleading data and lies as to his failed leadership. Gascon’s was rejected by 98% of the Deputy D.A.’s that work for him by supporting his recall. What boss would ever retain their job, when 98% of their employees think they should be fired? • I believe the D.A. should have a vast background in all areas of the justice system. I have 34 years of criminal justice experience prosecuting and defending hundreds of cases. I served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division, Environmental Crimes Coordinator, and the head of the Department of Justice’s Tax Division. In L.A., I spearheaded the L.A. Disaster Fraud Task Force and served as a Commissioner/President of the L.A. City Ethics Commission. In private practice, I have been a leading criminal justice defense and tax lawyer. I have represented crime victims and defended individuals and organizations against governmental overreach. • When elected, I will bring needed leadership, experience and balanced perspective of having served on all sides of the courtroom. I will work with prosecutors, law enforcement and our communities to directly tackle all crimes.
