Cheap Analog RCA Audio Cable Performance and Differences

I was very critical about cables, but after this experience I've been converted into believing that there are differences when it comes to analog audio cables. • These cables were all used to connect Grace Design m903, running it as a DAC, to Woo Audio WA6-SE tube headphone amplifier. • Firstly, I started off with a pair of Inakustik Premium Signal Cables . The cable was fine, was it not for the extreme noise it picked up from all the electrical devices around it. And so I got a pair of shielded signal cables. • The shielded signal cables, were a pair of KnuKonceptz Twisted Pair Triple Shielded 2 Channel RCA Cable . Now the hissing interference went away, and the sound quality was good, so I was happy. • Then another enthusiast who also bought the KnuKonceptz cables due to problems of interference told me that the audio quality of his older cables were better. • The older cables he had was a pair of Furutech SA-161 , and so he sent me his pair so I could demo them and we could compare notes at the end. • Much to my surprise his Furutech cables sounded better. Whereas the KnuzKonzeptz sounded compressed, his Furutech cables sounded much more open. It was like I was trying to push a lot of information through a sucking straw with the KnuzKonzeptz cables, whereas you used a garden hose with the Furutech ones. • The differences might be due to cable length as the Furutech cables are shorter than the Knuzkonzeptz cables. • Cables from left to right: • 1.
