Skiing the Whistler Backcountry in 30

The Arctic Outflow hit Whistler Blackcomb hard bringing blisteringly cold temps to the valley bottom. Most skiers opted to spend the weekend indoors, but what they didn’t know is that the inversion made for perfect temps and turns in the alpine. We decided to tough out the cold and gondola breakdowns/delays and embark on a ski touring adventure in the Whistler Blackcomb backcountry. We hiked harmony, the musical bumps, oboe, fissile and stopped for lunch at the Kees and Claire hut. We had the Whistler backcountry completely to ourselves and the conditions could not have been better. We had our eyes set on Banana chute but had to settle for an absolute amazing consolation prize on Cowboy Ridge. We exited via Singing Pass which was skiing great, and I took the name 'Singing Pass' a little too literally. Even though we didn't conquer the objective, we had the dream day out there.
