Jig heads are the best bit of fishing tackle there is and i thought I would make my own mould for casting some up for box of odd size hooks I bought at a bargain price. Yes you can buy jig heads for next nothing but where is the fun in that? Heat resistant RTV silicone is easiest method I know and cures quick enough so i cast handful and get back down the lake with some soft plastic lures. For this project I used Lead Free pewter which is not a cheap as lead or as heavy but by increasing the size of ball on the jig it makes a great alternative. • Tools materials as they appear • 5/0 jig head hooks, bought online • pair of wire cutters • 12mm drill plastic bead • hss drill to match hook shank drill • superglue • .8mm s/steel wire for bait keeper • superglue to hold wire in place • wax four pouring cone, I used baby- bel cheese wax • some plastic sheet for mould box 1-2mm • held together with gaffer tape • glue gun • High temperature rtv silicone about 30gram Amazon link https://amzn.to/44zzHX0 • catalyst • I used polycraft 3120 high temp silicone • Smooth-on in the USA do a High temp silicone • Scalpel blade for cutting open the mould • Masking tape a wood back board • Talc or Baby power and blower to blow it away • Lead free Pewter, available online • .8mm s/steel wire for bait keepr bent with long nose pliers
