This time it takes another direction though and moves away from the whole Clockwerk story. Murray felt responsible for what happened to Bentley in the end of the last game and was flooded with guilt over it. Bentley can no longer use his legs and is confined to a wheelchair, and eventually Murray couldn't take it and told his friends he needed to go find some peace for himself and left the gang. • Sly happens to meet up with a Walrus called Jim McSweeney, who was part of Sly's dad's gang back in the day. He revealed to Sly that there was a secret vault of the Cooper Clan hidden on an island in the pacific ocean that contained a vast amount of treasure that most of Sly's ancestors had been gathering up over the years. Intrigued, Sly and Bentley make their way to the island, but when they got there someone named Dr. M had built a fort on the island and for years had been trying to break into the Cooper-vault. They both realized that they needed to put a team of master thieves together to be able to get into the vault.
