When the G sharp note is played higher up on the neck, its tone is lower. And as you move up in octaves or down the neck of the guitar, the G sharp becomes a higher pitch note. There are a variety of G sharp pitches on the bass guitar, each one offering a different pitch and tone giving guitarists the ability to customize their play, based on the octave that they prefer.
