Shooting Star Plant, Dodecatheon meadia is a famous herbaceous perennial known as a shooting star that grows in late spring and early summer. Native to North America or the Eastern United States, low elevation areas are usually favorable for cultivation. The wildflower usually grows among woodland plants on rocky wooded slopes, bluff ledges, glades, meadows, grasslands, etc. Such perennials propagate 1 to 2 feet tall. • The same goes for horizontal spread. The member of the primrose family prefers to grow in moist or well-drained soil. The soil types include loam, clay, sand, and chalk requiring total sun exposure or part shade for efficient plant growth, while the PH varies from acidic to alkaline. • The blossoms arise from the rosette of lance-shaped leaves, primarily light pink, white to bright pink, and purple colors are some variable ranges. The flower scapes are 18 inches long, bearing an umbel of 8-30 nodding leafless flowers, with each 1 inch long has five reflexed petals with a cluster of yellow stamens uniting downward at a single point that looks like a shooting star falling on earth. • SHOOTING STAR IS FOR SALE AT TENNESSEE WHOLESALE NURSERY, WITH LOW PRICES AND FAST SHIPPING.
