The 1927 Bugatti Type 35, painstaking recreated by Argentinian company Pur Sang, is a brutal automobile. It uses a hand crank to start the engine. That engine is a supercharged two-liter straight-8. Yes, a straight-8. It has a four-speed manual transmission with no synchromesh, and the shifter is outside the car. The interior is cramped, and the footwell is so small that you can't wear shoes while inside it. This is troublesome because the aluminum bodywork is not insulated, and the metal pedalbox can and will sear your feet. This results in torn skin when you eventually try to get out of it. It's hard to start, hard to get into and hard to drive, but it is quite the experience. • #bugatti #pursang #classiccars
