So what exactly is GPIO? Well the real question is what isn’t it? Most of us pay little or no attention to this much neglected function not knowing all it can do for you. On Corvalent industrial motherboards the GPIO function is typically implemented as a 10 pin header. Of these pins, 2 are dedicated to power and the other 8 can be configured as a digital input or output, most of the time even individually. • Learn more about industrial motherboards: https://corvalent.com/product-categor... • This is our Q87MX motherboard. https://corvalent.com/products/indust... This is a demonstration of our GPIO header. So what we did here is we connected the cable to the header and we used only 2 signals, ground and GPIO 1. That connects to this transistor that will drive a relay that also then will drive this LED. So the purpose of the demonstration is just to show how we can use a computer or application we can toggle or switch the state of the GPIO pin and remotely control something. • In this particular case if we just click here and set it to 1, the GPIO just went to a high state and is controlling the transistor it will control the relay and will drive this LED. So this is a demonstration how you can use your computer and the GPIO header to control external devices. • Let’s connect! • LINKEDIN • / corvalent • FACEBOOK • / corvalentcorp • SUBSCRIBE TO OUR BLOG • https://corvalent.com/blog/ • Videos • https://corvalent.com/videos/ • VISIT • https://corvalent.com/ • CALL • 1-888-7767896
