Katydids are a large group of insects with more than 6,000 recognized species. They may sometimes be referred to as bush crickets or long horned grasshoppers but this can be confusing since they're not closely related to either! Katydids are found throughout the world in temperate and tropical climates. Most have short lifespans that complete within a year's time, but some may live longer!
