Their longing for one another sets ablaze a cosmic desire, punctuated by the rarity of eclipses. In this crisp, starlit backdrop, Zeus+Dione unveils its Autumn Winter 2024 collection, like a visual sonnet to the Sun and Selene, echoing the cosmic order as seen from Earth. Fundamental truths that early astronomers obsessed over are now reflected in ready-to-wear pieces. From full moons to planetary alignments – Marios Schwab harnesses these phenomena, linking them to our 24/7 daily rhythms. • Spathoto silk captures the essence of 'Chronos' – the god of time, in two distinct designs. The ‘Tempo’ spathoto mirrors time's linear flow, reminiscent of shifting shadows over Doric columns. Meanwhile the 'Dégradé’ spathoto displays a gradual colour change of a winter’s horizon. It shifts from the deep navy of twilight to the golden hues of the Greek sunrise, passing through a spectrum of chocolate, burnt orange, and earthy clay – a day's cycle woven into fabric. Each material, from shearling to knitwear, echoes the relentless passage of time. The letter ‘Alpha,’ as a key design element, guides the construction and cutting of selected pieces, from harnessing the bodice to sculpting the skirt's silhouette. The ever-changing colours of the sky are captured on sunray pleats, while sheer maxi dresses depict panoramic landscapes transitioning from dusk to midnight. Wool-blend and neoprene, stepping out of their traditional roles, are now tailored into versatile day-to-night pieces. • The accompanying jewellery line tells a story of evolution. It begins with silver pieces, shaped into crescents and full moons, and gradually moves to golden sun charms, symbolizing Selene’s journey away from her celestial lover. Pieces adorned with moonstones reflect a lunar glow, metallic tassels, shaped like the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, encircle the neckline like constellations, while embossed leather details bring the radiant faces of the Sun and Selene to life.
