For this week’s episode, I wanted to cover all the reasons you'll see an elevated WBC count. • When most clinicians think of elevated WBC count, they immediately think it's due to an infectious cause. • But, there are other differentials to consider when seeing this abnormal result. I’ll get to that in a second, first I want to establish a few definitions... • Leukocytosis refers to elevated WBC (leukocyte) count.
